Community Outdoor Warning System
Once a Severe Thunderstorm or Tornado warning has been issued, or a chemical release or spill has happened, a steady tone will sound for 3 minutes followed by a 5 minute pause.
This pattern will be repeated 3 times, and there will not be an all clear signal.
If you hear these alert signals you should take shelter in the interior of a strong structure away from windows. If possible you should tune to a local radio or television station for important information.
Weekly Testing:
The outdoor warning sirens will be tested weekly at 12:00 noon, each Wednesday, of each month. Testing is conducted weather permitting. The sirens are not tested during potentially bad weather to avoid confusion.
To report an inoperative siren, call (606) 528-2411 or (606) 528-1122, 24 hours a day. If you have any questions about this system, please feel free to contact the Corbin Fire Department at (606) 528-2411. |
